For law firms
Yamalé
A pan-African legal platform and network, built for your practice. Listing your firm costs nothing.
A law firm in Africa needs two things, and they usually come from two different places. Tools that make the practice work, and work coming through the door. Yamalé does both. Inside the firm, we work on how the practice is run, set up your own AI on your own files, train the associates you have just hired, and give you research across the continent. Outside it, a network sends clients straight to you and covers you in the markets you do not practise in.
Inside your firm
Most firms lose more money on how they are run than on the law they practise. These offerings are written for how firms practise across Africa: civil law, common law, and Arabic-speaking markets alike.
Fix how the firm is run, not just how it drafts
The package covers governance, people, operations, technology, business development, billing, risk and growth. Take it as a library and work through it yourselves, or bring in our law firm management consultant, who goes inside the practice and rebuilds the parts that are costing you, with cybersecurity support alongside for the client questions that now decide whether a firm is instructed at all.
Research across 55 jurisdictions
Search enacted business law across 55 African jurisdictions in plain language, in any of four working languages, while the AI reads the underlying texts in whatever language the law was written in. It is built from official gazettes and primary sources and updated as laws change, so a five-lawyer firm researches from the same base as a hundred-lawyer one.
Explore the research platformYour own AI, set up for you
We build your firm's private AI workspace on your own files rather than the open internet, and we set it up properly. It searches your matters, contracts and templates, flags inconsistencies against your prior work, and shows how something similar was handled before. We configure it around your practice, train your people to use it, and settle the confidentiality and data residency questions before a single file goes in.
Courses built for your associates
With our education partner we design courses for the associates you have just hired, built around your practice areas and the way your firm actually works, so a new lawyer becomes useful in months rather than years. The same programme extends into continuing education for the whole firm and into bar association work, and the version we build for you stays yours.
Ready-made kits now, drafting next
Legal kits your firm licenses instead of drafting from scratch, drafted and vetted by practising counsel, widening across sectors and jurisdictions as the contributor network grows. Next comes a drafting layer where an agreement is built for the jurisdiction that governs it and every clause is explained as it goes in, so drafting becomes checking and the firm bills for judgement rather than typing.
Browse document kits in the VaultBeyond your firm
Software on its own does not win work. Most cross-border matters in Africa still reach an African firm second hand, after a firm in London or New York has taken the client and most of the fee. Yamalé sits above the individual firm without competing with it. We hold the client relationship on continental mandates, set the standard the work is held to, and place the legal work with firms in the network.
Clients reach you directly
Verified firms are listed by jurisdiction, practice area and working language, so a business anywhere can find your firm and instruct it directly. Nobody sits in the middle. The client relationship is yours, the fee is yours, and a company looking for counsel in your market sees your firm rather than a foreign firm that will telephone you later.
Keep the client, cover the map
When your client moves into markets you do not practise in, you no longer have to choose between turning the work away and handing it to a foreign firm. Yamalé assembles counsel in the other jurisdictions, holds them to one standard and one timetable, and runs the matter on the platform. You keep the client and lead the mandate. We coordinate the rest.
How instructions reach your firm
Companies operating across three or more African markets come to Yamalé because they want one engagement letter, one invoice and one accountable point of contact for the whole continent. The legal work itself is done by firms in the network. Mandates go to firms that are verified, responsive and well rated on the matters they have already run.
Meet the market, not a panel
Yamalé brings lawyers together with each other and with the businesses that hire them, in regional sessions that pair real teaching on AfCFTA practice, firm management and practical technology with structured networking that puts firms in front of clients. East Africa comes first, with a continental conference following in 2027.
Join the lawyer database
We check bar standing, jurisdictions, practice areas, working languages and real capacity before a profile goes live. Once it is live, clients can reach you directly, and coordinated mandates are offered to the firms whose coverage fits the matter.
Step 01
Apply at the lawyer join page with your firm's coverage, practice areas and languages.
Step 02
We verify standing, coverage and capacity, usually within a week.
Step 03
Your profile goes live and clients instruct you directly, on your own terms.
Step 04
Coordinated mandates are offered by jurisdiction and practice area, with performance recorded matter by matter.
The paid tiers sit on top of the free listing rather than in front of it. The research platform, the firm AI, the management package, the associate training and the document kits are each taken by choice, never a condition of being listed.
